Shuaibu Idris has been a member of the HCM Ltd Board of Directors since 2021. He is a seasoned business executive and corporate leader with more than three decades of experience across banking, investment, manufacturing, and governance. In his role at HCM, he advises senior management on strategic direction, corporate governance, financial oversight, and risk management, helping to position the company for sustainable growth.

Mr. Idris previously served in multiple senior leadership roles at the Dangote Group from 2002 to 2010, including Group Treasurer, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing (Flour), and Deputy Managing Director/COO of the Flour Milling Group. Before Dangote, he was Assistant General Manager at Liberty Bank Plc., responsible for public sector and northern operations. He also co-founded Time-line Consult Limited, where he was the first Managing Consultant, and earlier served as Deputy CEO of Lakeside Investment Limited.

He began his career at the Kaduna State Board of Internal Revenue before moving into the financial sector with Chase Merchant Bank Nigeria, where he gained broad experience across operations, credit, treasury, corporate finance, and investment banking.

Beyond his corporate career, Mr. Idris is a prominent figure in governance and professional leadership. He is Chairman of the Board of Governors of the IoD Centre for Corporate Governance and has held board or trustee roles with the Institute of Directors Nigeria, the Nigerian Stock Exchange Investors Protection Fund, and Kaduna State University. He has also established NGOs including the Birnin Gwari Educational Endowment Fund (BEEF) and the Teens Empowerment and Salvage Initiative (TESI), reflecting his commitment to education and social development.

Mr. Idris is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (FIoD), the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (FCNA), and the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (FNIMN), among others. He earned a B.Sc. in Accountancy from Bayero University Kano and an M.Sc. in Banking and Finance from the University of Wales, United Kingdom.
