Dr. Huseyn Zakaria Mohammed has been a member of the HCM Ltd Board of Directors since 2021. He is an Islamic scholar, business executive, and public health advocate with more than three decades of service spanning religion, education, business, and international development. He currently serves as the Chief Missioner of the Uthman bin Affan Mosque in Abuja, where he also chairs the Advisory Committee on Education and Da’wah at Masjid Assalam. In addition, he is active as a Bitcoin and crypto-assets investment consultant and continues to contribute as a peace ambassador and public commentator across international media platforms including the BBC, VOA, and DW.

Dr. Zakaria previously served as the National Religious Focal Person on Poliomyelitis with UNICEF, where he coordinated national faith-based engagement efforts that contributed to Nigeria being delisted from polio-endemic countries. He also served as National Coordinator of the Northern Muslim Religious Leaders Forum, working in partnership with UNICEF and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to combat polio across Northern Nigeria. Earlier, he chaired special duties during the Hajj operations of Chanchangi Airlines.

In parallel with his development work, Dr. Zakaria has held senior religious leadership roles. He was appointed Chief Imam of the Syrian Mosque, Ikoyi, Lagos in 1995, after serving as Deputy Imam and later Chief Imam of the Jummu’ah Mosque, Victoria Island, Lagos. He also served as a private Islamic teacher to former Nigerian Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, and his late wife, Maryam Babangida.

Alongside his religious and social contributions, Dr. Zakaria has extensive business experience. He has held director-level positions in several companies, including Golden Construction Company Limited, where he served as Executive Director of Administration, and as co-founder or director in ventures such as Stan and Collymore Nigeria Limited, Damas Construction Limited, Azman Concept Limited, and Midra Limited.

Dr. Zakaria earned a Master’s Degree from Nasarawa State University, Keffi and is pursuing his Ph.D. in Digital and Cryptocurrency Technologies in Malaysia. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Bayero University, Kano, and has attended numerous international courses, seminars, and workshops in education, faith, and development.
